报告题目：Living with Trigonometry

报告摘要：When first encountering trigonometry functions at high school, students often get paranoid just mentioning its name. This may be because it is quite different from linear functions that they are used to. However, trigonometry, a collection of basic functions, is very useful to describe various waveforms appearing in nature.  As people may not realize, we have been friend with trigonometry for centuries. In this talk, we take you to a fun journey with trigonometry.

报告人简介：朱洪梅，1994年毕业于山东大学数学系。 2000年获加 拿大滑铁卢大学数学博士学位后，在卡加里大学西门子核磁共振研究所从事博士后研究工作。现任加拿大约克大学副教授，长期从事数据处理及其在医学和工业上的应用等研究工作。
