报告题目： Is it possible to use infrared images analysis in early detection of breast diseases?

报告摘要：A thermal camera captures heat patterns from the skin surface that can serve as indicators for medical diagnostic. Analyzing thermograms has been an application of computer science and applied mathematics. In this talk, the development in this direction from my group in Brazil is presented in order to capture your attention for future collaboration in international projects.

报告人简介：Professor at Department of Computer Science, Universidade Federal Fluminense (UFF). Her research is focused on the development of computational methods for biomedical image analysis and the use of machine learning techniques to provide interpretation of acquired scenarios. Her expertise lies in the areas of Medical imaging, Numerical Methods, Pattern Recognition, Computer Graphics and Image Processing. She has supervised around 60 Ph.D. and M.Sc. students since her entrance in academy. She has worked as coordinator or participant over 25 research projects under public resources from government agencies.
