报告题目：A Tale of Two Polynomials

报告摘要：Isobaric polynomials are symmetric polynomials written on the elementary symmetric polynomial basis. The generalized Fibonacci polynomials (GFPs) and the generalized Lucas polynomials (GLPs) are isobaric polynomials. The Fibonacci numbers and the Lucas numbers each form linear recursive sequence, which can be obtained from the GFPs and GLPs by suitable evaluation, respectively. As one would expect, since Fibonacci numbers and Lucas numbers have many applications inside and outside of Mathematics, the GFPs and GLPs also have many applications. In this talk, we mention some of these applications and give matrix representations for GFPs and GLPs.

报告人简介：Associate Professor, Emeritus, Senior Scholar at York University.His research area includes geometry, group theory, number theory and symmetric polynomials. He has given many talks on his research in different countries. This trip to Jinan is supported from a research grant in York University.
